Miriam is an award-winning urban designer, public intellectual and teacher . She is a founding principal of Gusevich-Miles Studio, LLC, (GM2) based in Washington, DC and Annapolis, MD. She is a tenured Professor at the Catholic University of America. (See awards and CV)
Miriam was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. As a political refugee and the child of double refugees, she has known displacement intimately and understands the significance of place. She emigrated with her family in 1968, as American cities were burning. These experiences have inspired her love of cities and landscapes, her passion to create meaningful public places and her compassion to serve people’s hopes for a better future.
Peter received an international award for “Yahrtzeit Candles” a Master Plan for “Babyn Yar - Dorogozhychy Necropolis” in Kyiv, Ukraine (2016). He is a co-author of the People’s Plan for McMillan Park. www.McMillanPark.com. The project was featured in the Washington Post. His team was featured as young leaders in the journal of the National Trust of Historic Preservation.
David is a professional architect with over 25 years of experience in residential, commercial and institutional projects.
David was born in Baltimore, Maryland and studied at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. He received his B.Arch’ 78 and has been practicing in Annapolis since 1983. In 1991 he founded The Drawing Board, Inc. as a full service Architectural firm working from initial planning and design through permit filing, contractor negotiation and construction administration. In 2013 he co-founded Gusevich-Miles Studio.
